Various landmarks are seen - Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Manhattan skyline, JFK airport, Pan American aircraft lands and tourists disembark, Empire State Building, Pan Am building, Chrysler building, Radio City Music Hall, Lincoln Centre, Guggenheim Museum (exterior and interior showing nice modern art exhibit), Ford Foundation, Brooklyn Bridge, Circle Line river trip, UN building, street scenes, Washington Square, pavement artists display their work, people play chess in the open air, outside a cafe - The Ginger Man, military parade at the Rockefeller Centre. Central Park seen from the vantage point of a high rooftop, scenic shots of the park including buggy rides, bicycling, etc. Some street scenes are shot through a "fish eye lens" - rather fab! Adirondack Mountains - upstate New York. People ride horses through the lovely countryside. Scenic shots of wildlife, fisherman in waders, lakes, rivers etc. Wild West town. It is a replica of Dawson City the famous Yukon gold rush town. Prospectors and Cowboys and Indians wander around. Boot Hill Cemetery is seen. Couples tuck into a barbecue on the banks of a lake. Hollywood Hills - just up the road from Manhattan. The couples wave at people in a canoe on the lake. Wedding car arrives in Niagara falls and newlywed couple get out to admire the view. Various nice shots of the falls. Helicopter ride over the falls from Goat Island. Rainbow is seen across the falls. Aerial views of the falls. Night shots of the Palisades (sp?) funfair in New Jersey - various rides are seen - all brightly lit. Ends with Times Square neon lights and advertising hoardings. Weird advert has an aerosol spray that sprays air freshener (?) into the air. Lots of cinemas are seen in a row including one that suggests: "Get more out of life - go out to a movie!" - instead of staying home watching television I guess. Films include "Maroc 7", "Weekend Italian Style", "A Stranger in Town" and "Counterpoint". Cuts exist - see other record. FILM ID:463.11 A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
