It was well known that Shibuya ward, one of Tokyo’s 23 city wards, would ban public drinking if alcoholic beverages but now it’s not just at Halloween and New Year. Effective Oct 1st, from 6pm to 5am, you cannot consume alcoholic beverages outside in prohibited areas around Shibuya. THERE are NO Penalties (yet) so a lot of bark, little bite. Will it help clean up Shibuya, known for being filthy? I hope so. #shibuya #drinkingban
