To celebrate the start of our autumn 2024 Lecture Series in October, we're releasing the video of one of our most popular lectures from last year. On 16th November 2023, Dale Townshend from the Manchester Centre for Gothic Studies at Manchester Metropolitan University, delivered his lecture entitled Revenants and Remains at Wentworth Woodhouse. The lecture looks at the influences behind what drove the 18th Century fascination for all things Gothic and how this manifested itself in both the architecture and literature of the time.
