October 8th, 2023 While some of us grew up in atheist homes, many of us spent our childhood in Christian homes going to church each week. As we left the influence of our parents, often with some religious trauma, many of us turned away from the religious path of our childhood church. Rev. Karen Williams explores the maverick behavior of Christian Nationalists who make up the far right political arena today, which often sours us on even hearing the name of Jesus. We certainly run from the churches’ messages of guilt, fear and punishment. Yet the teachings of Jesus actually belong to ALL religions, as well as applying to anyone on the path to personal awakening, outside the context of religion. Jesus delivered a pure healing message of love and peace. His message was to celebrate the Divine in each of us.
