Stuart Russell is Distinguished Professor of Computer Science at University of California, Berkeley, where he founded and leads the Center for Human-Compatible Artificial Intelligence. He is the co-author with Peter Norvig of the authoritative textbook on AI, Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach, and author of Human Compatible: Artificial Intelligence and the Problem of Control. OpenAI defines Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) as: ‘a highly autonomous system that can outperform humans at most economically valuable work.’ This series addresses the theme of AGI.
