The violinist In Mo Yang performs Camille Saint-Saëns's Violin concerto n°3 in b minor op.61, with the Orchestre National de France conducted by Neeme Järvi. Excerpt from the concert recorded live on 24 January 2019 at the Radio France Auditorium. Saint-Saëns's Violin Concerto no.3, composed in 1880, was first performed by Pablo de Sarasate, to whom the composer had already dedicated his Violin Concerto no.1 (and later his Introduction et Rondo Capriccioso). The work came but a year after Brahms's Violin Concerto op.77, another highly celebrated work. Saint-Saëns followed closely the tradition of the genre: a tightly-structured work with the three traditional movements, highlighting the soloist's virtuosity without eclipsing the orchestra. The first movement opens immediately with the solo violin, a soft movement with several energetic passages intensity. The second movement launches a dialogue between the soloist and the woodwinds, closing with a serene atmosphere suddenly interrupted by the third movement with its dramatic and theatrical accents. 00:35 1st movement : Allegro non troppo 10:04 2nd movement : Andantino quasi allegretto 19:00 3rd movement : Molto moderato e maestoso - Allegro non troppo More concerts on : https://www.francemusique.com/concerts Click here to suscribe to our YouTube Channel : http://bit.ly/2oeEr3e Follow us on: - Facebook - https://bit.ly/2G380fK - Twitter - http://bit.ly/2okZSfP - Instagram - http://bit.ly/2nDA547
