We did many projects over the years and in this video we are going to share with you our favorite cosmetic project we did on our sailboat. In this video we'll show you what products we used, how we installed it, and the finished look! 5 years ago we needed to replace our project boats moldy headliner. We did a lot of research on headliner but we wanted something different. We had an innovative idea to use pvc planking from home depot, since it looked good, and was inexpensive. We first took out all of the old headliner and cleaned it up. We started from the center of the boat and mounted the first plank by screwing it in. We clipped the next plank in place and continued this process. The part that takes the most time is when you get to the edge. Since a sailboat does not have straight edges we had to measure the curves of the boat and mark it on the plank. Then cut it using a saw. Once the shape was right we mounted it like the others. As an option you can use a small trim like we did going across and along the edges. This gives it a clean finish, it adds more character to it, but its not necessary. We patched the holes and painted it a gloss white for extra protection and a cleaner look. This is our sailboats headliner transformation! It has been years since we have installed it and we honestly love it. This was one of our most inexpensive and quickest Diy projects we did on our sailboat! It gave our sailboat a clean fresh look, made the interior feel more open, and made our sailboat feel even more like our home.
