Consciousness Part 1: Is Consciousness Physical Processes in the Brain?

Do we have a soul? Where do our thoughts come from? Is consciousness just the movement of molecules in our brain? In this first video, we will begin a discussion on different theories of consciousness. Some of the different theories are: Substance Dualism, Idealism, Simulation Hypothesis, Quantum Theory of Consciousness, Panpsychism, and Physicalism. We will look closely at physicalism in this first video because physicalism is the predominant view in the academy and neuroscience. I will try to argue that no matter what view one takes, God is the best explanation for why we see conscious beings in the universe.
