Was Budokai 2 a BAD SEQUEL or is it just Overlooked?

With the upcoming release of Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, I've been been feeling the urge to hop into some classic Dragon Ball titles. Today, we're doing just that, as we check out Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2. Released for the PlayStation 2 in 2003, just one year after the release of the original Budokai game, the sequel offered major improvements in both the visuals and gameplay departments. The story mode though, known as Dragon World, was slightly controversial, and it's easy to see why. Some folks preferred the more traditional storytelling style offered in Budokai 1, while others preferred Budokai 2's take on the telling of the story we've all heard so many times. But, at the end of the day, I think it's safe to say that the game is often overlooked. Especially these days. How often do YOU find yourself going back to play Budokai 2 over the later titles that were released for the PlayStation 2?
