A great jazz standard, "Alone Together". in the key of D minor, Lays very nicely on the guitar. It is a great tune for practicing playing over m7(b5) chords. This lesson will be looking at 3 important areas you need to know for any jazz standard. 1) The Head (Melody) - is written out in a quasi-chord solo approach, and can be played as is, or used as a guide for your own ideas. It is important to distinguish what notes are melody and bring them out. 2) The Comping (Chords) - Some of the chord voicings are written out in whole notes giving you the opportunity to come-up with your own rhythms, feel free to get ideas from my performance on the video. Also using ideas come-up with your own ideas. 3) The Solo - Some parts are written out, watch the video for a more in-depth explanation of the arpeggios, scales, and other tools used in coming-up with the solo, Other parts are improvised and a great place to try out your own ideas.
