Jinan Laurentia Woo, 12, South Korea, performing Wieniawski's Polonaise Brilliante No. 2 in A Major, Op. 21 at the Menuhin Competition #Richmond2021 Junior Semi-Finals. Pianist: Jun Cho Jinan Laurentia Woo is a 7th grader at Harvard-Westlake School and Honors Merit Scholarship fellow at the Colburn School, where she studies with Robert Lipsett and Fabiola Kim. She was admitted to the junior division of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts at four years old, where she studied with Michael Ma and Maria Jee. Jinan made her solo concert debut at ten years old at a performance sponsored by the Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation. Jinan has taken part in various music festivals, including the Innsbrook Institute, Centre Stage Strings and the Aspen Music Festival and School. In 2019, she won 1st Prize at the Zhuhai International Mozart Competition for Young Musicians. Founded by Yehudi Menuhin in 1983, the Menuhin Competition is the world's leading international competition for young violinists. The Competition attracts hundreds of entries from countries across the globe, choosing only 44 of the world’s very best young violinists to participate. Held every two years in a different world city the Competition discovers, encourages and nurtures exceptionally talented young musicians from all corners of the world under the age of 22 years to develop into the next generation of great artists.
