Hi welcome to Caribbeanj03. Thank you for coming into my kitchen with me. Today I will be making my teriyaki Shrimp and broccoli. It will be served with jasmine rice any white rice will do. Ingredients: Stir Fry 1 tablespoon Vegetable and/ coconut oil 3 Garlic Cloves finely chopped 1 Whole head Broccoli cut into florets 1 cup Mixed Vegetables mushrooms, bell peppers etc. 1 2lb bag Shrimp deveined and cleaned 2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger or paste 1 1/2 tablespoons of chicken bouillon seasoning 1 tablespoon cornstarch if needed Salt to taste Roasted sesame seeds for garnish Shrimps Seasoning (optional) 1 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 teaspoon ground red pepper flakes (optional) Pinch of salt Instructions: 1. Mix together all the ingredients under sauce and set aside. 2. In a medium bowl season clean shrimp 3. Heat half the oil in a wok or pan 4. I pre cook my shrimp this is optional because shrimp cooks very quickly. 5. or just start at the next step 6. Add the chopped garlic. Saute for a minute and add shrimp. Stir fry the shrimp on high heat for 2-3 minutes till it starts turning pink. Add the broccoli and vegetables and stir fry again for 2-3 minutes. 7. Once the shrimp is cooked through and the veggies start looking bright, add the sauce and keep stirring till it comes to a boil. Add a little more water if the sauce is too thick. Simmer for a minute or two. Check for seasoning and add salt if required. Stir well and switch off the flame. Homemade Teriyaki Sauce Ingredients: 1/3 cup red wine (I used port) 1/3 cup cooking oil 1 teaspoon ground ginger 2 teaspoons minced garlic 1/8 teaspoon dry mustard powder or 1 teaspoon yellow mustard Dash lemon juice Sesame seeds for garnish Optional: 1 tablespoon cornstarch 2 tablespoons brown sugar Instructions: 1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl, except optional ingredients, unless you choose to use them. 2. Pour over chicken, beef, shrimp, vegetables, or your protein of choice. 3. Marinade for approximately 3 hours, depending on the type of protein. 4. Use the remaining sauce for basting. Optional: 1. If using optional ingredients, cook the sauce, bring to a short roaring boil until the sauce thickens. 2. Cool the sauce to room temperature and continue from # 2 above.
