I wrote this song for the piano to honor the legacy of pianist, conductor and educator, Daniel Barenboim. Discovering Barenboim in my teenage years inspired me to pursue the piano, study Beethoven's sonatas and learn how to read music. I have seen Maestro Barenboim in Carnegie Hall playing Mozart's piano concertos and Bruckner's symphonies (see picture in video). His humble brilliance and unrelenting passion is a testimony for the timeless wonders of music. In all my life, music has stood by my side as a mirror to reality. The wisdom of ancient tunes fit to modern instruments is what classical musicians like Barenboim channel into the current of history and impact the lives of people everywhere.
